Terms of use
Effective October 20, 2026
These terms apply to the SpellBank app from Comparative Imaging, Inc. ("we"). By using the app you agree to them. If you got SpellBank from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where the two differ, Apple's agreement governs your use on Apple devices.
Licence
We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use SpellBank on devices you own or control, for your own entertainment. Don't copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows it.
Free play and the unlock
Free play is free. The one-time purchase Unlock SpellBank unlocks Sprint, Three Strikes, the Daily challenge and multiplayer for the store account that bought it. On the App Store it can be shared with your Family Sharing group. Purchases, refunds and restoring purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their terms; use Restore purchases in the app to restore the unlock on a new device.
Word lists
The dictionaries are built from openly licensed word lists, credited with their licences on the app's About screen. They're large, automatically filtered and imperfect: a real word may be missing, or an unusual one included. Offensive words are filtered out, but no filter is perfect; tell us if you find one.
Playing with others
Choose a display name that's fair to the people you play with. Multiplayer games connect phones directly over your local network; we don't run servers and can't see or moderate games.
No warranty
SpellBank is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties and aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for the app. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
